Defensive Driving Class

The purpose of Defensive Driving classes is to teach drivers about safe driving behaviours and attitudes.

Georgia law mandates that all State approved defensive driving classes are conducted in a State approved classroom by a State approved instructor, and will cost $75 and last a total of 6 hours.

For people taking the Defensive Driving Course voluntarily to qualify for a discount on thier insurance policy the class format is exactly the same but the cost is only $35

People take a Defensive Driving course for the following reasons:

• Court Mandated - Courts will frequently require attendance at a Defensive Driving course for traffic violations
• Driver’s License Reinstatement
• Points Reduction - Under certain circumstances you may be able to reduce upto 7 points once every 5 years. 
• Possible Ticket Dismissal
• Insurance reduction - Many insurance companies will allow a 10% discount upon the completion of a Defensive Driving class.  Be sure to check with your insurance company before to make sure that you will get a discount before enrolling in a class.
• Concerned parent - Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of teen deaths.  Many parents insist that their children take a Defensive Driving class for both personal safety and possible insurance discounts.
